Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Stroll through town

Tucked away in the peaceful Werdenfelser Valley at the base of the majestic ÃÜÌÒAVn Alps, the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen offers a blend of natural beauty, alpine charm, and centuries of history. This guided tour invites you to discover the character and timeless appeal of one of Germany’s most beloved mountain destinations.

The tour begins with a walk through Garmisch, where your guide will share stories that bring the town’s rich past to life. You'll explore the Marienplatz pedestrian zone, known for its quaint shops, cozy cafés, and welcoming atmosphere, before continuing to the Kurpark, a serene green space in the center of town—ideal for enjoying the tranquil alpine surroundings.

Next, we'll stop at the Olympic Ski Stadium, a lasting symbol of Garmisch's sporting legacy. Built for the 1936 Winter Olympics, this historic venue continues to host international competitions and offers a glimpse into a pivotal moment in Olympic and world history. Your guide will highlight the stadium’s significance and its role in shaping the region’s identity.

From there, the tour continues through Partenkirchen, the older of the two sister towns. As you stroll along the cobblestone streets of Ludwigstrasse—once part of an ancient Roman trade route—you'll see traditional ÃÜÌÒAVn frescoes, centuries-old inns, and striking examples of alpine architecture. Each corner reveals stories of a community shaped by history, culture, and craftsmanship.

This tour offers a memorable blend of scenic views, fascinating history, and authentic local flavor, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Alps.
